Oswald Haerdtl Dining Chairs by Ligna

A set of four plywood dining chairs in original finish by renowned Czech designer Ozwald Haerdtl and manufacutred by Ligna.

This superb set in excellent condition are after a set designed by Haerdtl for Narodni Podnik Nlay that date to 1955.

The chairs exhibit a high cut out circular back with molded arm rests and shapely diagonal supports. A wide and deep seat gives superb comfort and support to the sitter whilst raised on four gently tapering perfectly positioned legs.

Unlike the predecessor this set has comfortable drop in seats instead of the protype dished ply seat of the 1950’s. The seats have been re-upholstered  in calico to be either left in clean contemporary condition or reinvented with new clothing.

A true design classic presented in excellent condition.
