A rare and rather wonderful pair of antique dioramas, originally used as museum teaching aids to educate about the cultures of the world and their traditional dress.
Each diorama is housed within a custom-made perspex showcase and then stored within its own handmade red wooden box, complete with a sliding door, for easy transportation.
The first diorama displays a family in traditional clothing from the Lapland region in Finland. The second diorama displays a male and female figure in traditional Dutch attire.
Exquisite detailing to the facial expressions and clothing. The Lapland diorama is numbered ‘824’ in stenciling and the Dutch diorama is numbered ‘285E’, indicating they were part of a much larger collection.
Price is for the pair.
British, circa 1940.
