Large Circular Czech Tramway Mirror

A large Eastern European circular mid-century original tramway mirror.

The gently convex  mirror plate is housed in a steel frame retaining the original red and cream paint finish. The  mercury fish eyed glass is wonderfully foxed and presented in original condition.

The reverse has two steel work brackets and a hanging chain where the mirror would have been attached to tram tracks, sharp bends, and shunting yards to provide drivers and operators with a wide-angle, panoramic field of view around blind spots.

Astonishing in its size and made of heavy weight materials so it was able to weather the elements all year round.

A wonderful piece of European history ready to be reimagined into a domestic or hospitality setting.
