A captivating pair of 17th-century Limoges enamel plaques by Jacques Laudin II of the renowned Laudin family dynasty of enamellers.
Entitled ‘Jesus Amabilis’ and ‘Mater Amabilis’ featuring noir backgrounds, gold highlighting and decorative polychrome lilies.
The mid-nineteenth century carved gilt frames accentuate the gold used by Laudin and add a wonderful depth to the plaques.
Both are titled and signed to the lower right-hand corner with monogram ‘JL’.
