An exceptional mid Victorian oak refectory table in the gothic taste in the manner of E W Pugin.
The naturally bleached table top is made of a thick single oak plank with a splendid gentle curve to one side with a chamfered edge and rounded corners.
The base of pegged construction has a pair of carved trestle ends of triangular form complemented by out swept supports to each.
The carved supports of good form finish on sledge feet united by a single well weathered stretcher.
This spectacular table can seat eight to ten guests comfortably, presented in un-restored original condition.
English, circa 1860.
