French Empire Revival Walnut Sofa In Ticking

An elegant 19th Century Empire Revival sofa in walnut of wonderful proportions and splendid curves.

The shapely back rest and arms have tall and comfortable sides with a deep and welcoming seat.

The plinth features cast gilt bronze neoclassical rosettes and acanthus leaf appliques and raised on large bracket feet with recessed brass castors.

The feet have carved scrolls and decorative swirls and features.

The sofa has been fully restored and stripped back to the solid frame for upholstery with a refurbished coil spring base, with hessian lining and calico coverings, before being finished in Princeton blue stripe ticking upholstery. The sofa has been finished with double piping to the edges along with the seat base to create a modern contemporary feel to this unusual sofa.

The sofa is of small proportions making it perfect in size for a bedroom or a smaller space.
