A 19th century French Napoleon III square back armchair with a low back and a wide generous seat.
The beech frame is raised on turned ebony legs complemented with brass castors to the front two legs. This example is unusual as is is shorter and wider than similar styles from this period.
The armchair has been fully restored and stripped back to the solid frame for upholstery with a new coil spring base, with hessian lining and calico coverings added before being finished in Princeton blue stripe ticking upholstery.
