Aesthetic Movement Gypsy Table

A charming and unusual 19th century Aesthetic Movement gypsy table with a burgundy velvet circular top.

Beneath the table top is a multi coloured richly embroidered floral fringe with intricate gold coloured stitching. The stitching is wonderfully executed and complemented with time worn green tassels beneath the fringe.

The table top is supported by four ebony fluted supports ending on ball finials that join with a turned ‘X’ shaped cross stretcher.  Ending on four gently out swept legs and finished on ebony ceramic castors with gold crown metalwork detailing.

The legs and supports of the table have gold ink penwork details to either side adding an extra dimension and depth to the base.

A truly original table with plenty of stories to tell.
