A 19th century Victorian Chinoiserie Triptych Mirror with gently foxed mirror plates inside a faux bamboo frame.
In the closed position the mirrors interlock within the frame with a small latch to keep the plates secure.
The outer mirror backs are decorated with typical chinoiserie designs of wuxia figures in combat. The paintwork designs are faded to perfection with sublime red and green shade that give a depth and warmth to the mirror.
The backing of the middle mirror has a small chain and two original hanging hooks for stability when attached to the wall.
A wonderful and interesting piece of Victorian chinoiserie design beautifully executed.
English, circa 1880.
