An English oak vernacular stool salvaged from a Midlands foundry.
The stool has a split oval shaped chunky top of pegged construction with various additional legacy nails from years gone by.
Beneath the seat, a peripheral iron bracket has been added to strengthen the base, which sits on four gently tapering splayed legs.
The historical fixes made throughout its two hundred and fifty year old history, only add to its charm.
Strong and sturdy with beautiful patina, a genuine piece of 18th century craftsmanship.
Perfect for use in everyday life.
English, circa 1780.
