An outstanding and rare pair of Safari ‘Roorkee’ Chairs made by M. Hayat & Bros in Peshawar, Pakistan.
‘Roorkee’ chairs are campaign chairs that were commonly used by British officials from the late 19th century through to mid 20th century.
The collapsable teak frame complements the hand-stitched black leather seat.
Makers mark to the teak frame.
This pair comes with their original hand-stitched canvas bags for transporting when collapsed.
