Large Pair Of Mahogany Apothecary Drawers

A large pair of 19th century mahogany apothecary cabinets with a total run of sixty smooth running drawers.

Each of the cabinets has an arrangement of twenty one small drawers with a bank of twelve larger drawers beneath.

The cabinet would have been one continuous run before the pair were split directly down the centre. The drawers were probably divided when the drawers were removed from their initial installation in a chemist or apothecary shop for easy removal.

Each of the smooth running drawers has the original iron work handles and name plates to each.

The spacious two plank top with a rounded moulded lip on a shallow plinth base with the original oak boarded backs.

Each of the cabinets is flanked by a pair of beautifully carved decorative pillars.

This magnificent bank of drawers could either be presented in one long run or as a pair in two separate banks. They would make a superb side board or kitchen island or as a standout focal point in a bar or restaurant setting.

Superb colour and grain throughout.
