Large Pine Plan Chest

A wonderful and unusually large vintage pine plan chest from an architectural firm based in Devon.

The chest is comprised of six smooth running drawers with original brass cup handles to each within an oak carcass with pine supports.

The spacious top allows documents to be displayed and managed clearly when removed from the cabinet.

This style of plan chest is unusual due to the inside drawer dimensions which are exceptionally deep and wide. The drawers also contain no central supports through the central portion of the ply drawer linings allowing documents such as posters to be laid completely flat.

The chest splits into two parts and the top can also be removed for simpler installation and transportation.

The chest has undergone a full sympathetic restoration to bring out the colour and grain of the cabinet with additional brass screws on the cup handles.

In fully clean and useable condition awaiting for a new collector to fill the drawers!
