Victorian Open Armchair By Cornelius V Smith

A superb Victorian button back open armchair made by renowned 19th century London furniture maker, Cornelius V. Smith.

The chair has a comfortable deep seat and a high deep button back with raised open buttoned arms over mahogany turned legs.

All finished on brass castors and stamped with the initials CVS and numbered to both rear legs.

The armchair has been fully restored and stripped back to the solid oak frame for upholstery with a restored coil spring base, with hessian lining and calico coverings added ready for new upholstery.

A beautifully executed English country house armchair from the golden age of Victorian furniture manufacture and design.
