Large 19th Century French Vendange Table

A spectacular and rare 19th century Vendange or wine table in walnut from Northern France.

The heavy and thick table top is made from three large pieces of walnut that exhibit superb colour and grain.

The table has a wonderful tilting top mechanism which is secured by a large iron bolt beneath the table top that releases the top so it can gently swing into place. The top rests on the typical wishbone shaped turning supports which are made of oak and typical of French wine tables.

The table originally designed for wine tasting in a French vineyard is very unusual due to its size and it can comfortably accommodate between six and eight guests.

The table remains in original and untouched condition however the workshop at Pointers Antiques have completed a clean to brush off the cobwebs!
